About me

My name is Petr Drapela, and I am a photographer from Vysocina region in the Czech Republic. I have been interested in photography since high school right after my grandfather gave me an old Czechoslovakia twin-lens reflex camera: Flexaret V manufactured by a famous company Meopta. The magic of analog photography excited me so much that the camera has become a part of my
everyday life.

During the years 2013-2019 I studied at the Brno University of Technology. While studying, I took several photography courses lead by lecturer Gabriela Kolcavova, where I realized the richness and diversity of the photographic medium.

Based on these experiences, I have decided to progress in my photographic work and applied to the ITF in Opava, where I have been studying Creative Photography since 2022.

My photographic work reflects my previous technical studies- fascination of industrialization and the structural view of the surrounding environment. At the same time, I also try to bring the elements of documentary photography.
